| Eh, it's one of the better things I've done. There's still problems with it.
Here's art in words...if it qualifies as 'art'...
Final Day by Mallorie A poem about Termina's last hour through the eyes of Anju
Falling, falling, falling, Bringing with it a gathering gloom I’m looking up at the blood-red eyes Of our homicidal, maddening moon
‘Twas enchantment that drove it to torment us so And insanity lies behind that No one is safe from the blood lusting gaze Neither king nor the lowliest rat
There is nowhere left for us to go, And there is nowhere left to hide, For three whole days it has been coming Its steady strength and hate abides
“Isn’t there anyone there to save us? Keep us from our fiery demise! Is there no one left to triumph Or even anyone to try?”
The streets, they echo destruction The walls scream out, hopeless The few who've chosen to remain Do so ‘cause they’ve got nothing left
I could cry for all the children Who will never get the chance to live Their innocence marred, their beauty shattered I wish hope were mine to give!
And yet still it bears down, With nary a sound And kills off what reverie I might have found
Now I see it spiraling madly Towards the lush green earth “Oh please! Someone save us!” But they’re voices won't be heard
“Four Giants! Please have mercy!” And then the panic ensues. Don’t the poor souls realize? There’s nothing we can do.
The Four Giants are not coming The masked imp has finally won There are no final chances And tomorrow will never come.
I’m tucking my head betweens my legs To wait for the end alone It’s painful to listen to the Clock Tower Ringing out the Carnival’s tome
Once a symbol of rejoining It now seals our cruel, twisted fate It seems to sing to the moon above Seems to open a welcoming gate
And then the tower is silenced As it crumbles beneath that great orb The people screaming madly, The Skullkid calling the moon forth
It’s falling, falling, falling Bringing with it, impending doom And I take a last look into the eyes Of the murderous, monstrous moon
The town is collapsing around me I can't run, can't scream can't breathe There's nothing to do but stay still and wait Wait for this chaos to hurry and kill me
It wasn't a shock when my skirt caught aflame When the beam knocked me over the head It wasn't a shock to find myself sobbing To be wishing that I were just dead
The windows exploded, I lifted my eyes My gaze was distorted with tears When suddenly I heard something float by That somehow assuaged all my fears
The notes were gentle and soothing I could hear no other sound I felt no pain, no fear, no worry Just the new, fresh peace I'd found
He was standing on the tower, As it crumbled 'round his head He was playing some sort of instrument It was a miracle that he wasn't dead
The Skullkid screamed and cursed and cried He merely ignored him; played on The clear, haunting notes that poured forth from the boy Gave the world inexplicable calm...
A flash of light Then a deafening sound I realize with horror That I'm falling now
Falling, falling falling Away from the death and the doom Up goes the horrible, hated rock That we cursed and called our moon
The fire's not there any longer The beams are all in their place The tears and blood and dirt and ash Are no longer on my face...
Something just happened, I'm sure of it I just...can't remember what It seems like something horrible... Maybe I'm just going nuts...
What was that song...it was so nice The loveliest I've ever heard Like a cherub whistling clear and sweet Or the gentle song of a bird
Maybe I just dreamt it all Yes, just something in my head The Carnival is three days away And I'm lying here in bed!
I suppose I'll just glance out the window What's the weather like in town? Ah, but Grandma needs her breakfast I'd best be on my way down
I really hate that horrible moon... They say it's going to fall... Should I believe it...is it true? It could happen, after all.
Now I'm passing up the lobby I'll just stop in at the front desk "Would you look at that, It seems as though we have ourselves a guest"
He's just a little boy, with a gentle little smile His hair is gold, His eyes are blue He looks so meek and mild
What's that thing he has in his hand? An instrument out of lore It looks so familiar...I just had to know If perhaps I'd seen it before?
He tucks it in his pocket He's got a sad and knowing look Gently, he lays his child-like hand On the pages of the book
I realize that I'm staring But there's something just so strange About this green-clothed little boy ...I feel I know his name...
I searched his calm and patient eyes But couldn't find a clue As to why this little boy Was giving me such Deja vu
He's watching the clock as it ticks by And I'm studying his familar face I'm sure I know, but there's no clues My mind is drawing a blank
As to why I have this boy So clearly in my mind? I suppose I'm only imagining things... And that I'm wasting the little child's time
"Ah well, it doesn't matter" I thought in resignation "Now, tell me little boy, Do you have a reservation?"
"My name is Link" he said softly There it is! I'm sure I know now! Then that odd, washed out sort of feeling... ...Now what was I thinking about?
"Link" I repeated absently He nodded, expression the same Scanning the pages and smiling... "My, what an interesting name..." | |
